Atlas + Sahara Desert Trekking Tour Package: 6 days
Day 1: Marrakech - Imi Oughlad – Tinzert
We'll pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 9 am, ready to embark on this amazing adventure. After a two-hour drive, we'll arrive at Imi Oughlad. From this Amazigh village in the Atlas Mountains, we'll start the first stage of the trekking route, which will take us 90 minutes. On this stretch, we'll cross the Ouirgane National Park - the landscape will take your breath away!
After a break for a picnic, we'll continue our route to another Amazigh village: Tinzert. Here we'll share a traditional dinner with a local family, who will also welcome us into their private home for the night.
Day 2: Tinzert – Tizi Oussem
First, we'll fill up on breakfast with the Tinzert family before we set off to cross the Ouirgane valley. The walk will take around five hours. However, we'll make several stops to recharge our batteries and explore the landscapes of the Tizi N'Takhrkhourt mountain and the amazing Azzaden valley.
The High Atlas route will end at a mountain hostel in Tizi Oussem, where we'll have dinner and rest until the next day.
Day 3: Tizi Oussem - Tizi n Mzik – Imlil
We'll start the day with a hearty breakfast at the Tizi Oussem hostel, ready to take on the challenge of climbing to the summit of the Tizi n Mzik mountain - it stands at 2,479 metres high! After enjoying the view, we'll set off on a two-hour walk to the D'Irhoulidene waterfalls. The route will then continue to the foothills of Mount Azib Brdoun, where we'll have a picnic break.
After lunch, we'll head to the village of Imlil for dinner and spend the night in a mountain hostel Refuge du Toubkal Mount Toubkal - the highest peak in Morocco!
Day 4: Imlil – Ait Benhaddou – Dadès Gorges
After breakfast at the hostel, we'll travel by minibus to Ouarzazate, the gateway city to the Moroccan desert. From there we'll go to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou: a historic walled province declared a World Heritage Site. This stunning environment has been the shooting location of some famous films such as Jesus of Nazareth or Lawrence of Arabia. We'll then return to Ouarzazate for lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll drive to the breathtaking sight of the Dadès Gorge. In this part of Morocco, we'll have a tasty dinner and spend the night in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Dadès Gorges –Todgha Gorges – Merzouga Desert
Rise and shine! On this penultimate day we'll depart by minibus from the Dadès Gorge to another of Morocco's famous canyons: the Todgha Gorge. Once you've snapped enough photos, we'll take a break for lunch and continue the route to a Merzouga desert tent camp. Here we'll enjoy a camel ride at sunset in the dunes of Erg Chebbi- an unforgettable experience!
We'll then return to the camp, where we'll have dinner under the twinkling starlight that illuminates the desert.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert - Marrakech
After watching the sunrise over the desert dunes, we'll have our last breakfast together at the campsite. We'll then depart by minibus heading west, stopping halfway in Ouarzazate for lunch.
After lunch, we'll return to Marrakech. Arrival at your hotel or riad at 8 pm.

The tour includes 5 nights' accommodation with dinner and breakfast:
- First night: Private home of a local family in Tinzert
- Second night: Mountain hostel in Tizi Oussem
- Third night: Mountain hostel Refuge du Toubkal
- Fourth night: Guesthouse in the Dadès Valley
- Fifth night: Tented camp in the desert of Merzouga
