Riads are traditional Moroccan houses with an interior courtyard usually decorated with plants, fountains or swimming pools. All rooms are usually accessed from the courtyard of the two or more storey house. These palaces normally have a terrace on the top floor and breakfast is commonly served here along with the riad’s social life. Arguably, riads in Morocco are the equivalent to Britain’s Bed and Breakfast.
Although you can find different types of accommodation on our site, including hostels and apartments, if you want your trip to be unique, we recommend staying at a riad and experience the true spirit of Marrakech. Behind a riad’s walls is a small Moroccan oasis worthwhile discovering.
